The ANONYMOUS SELFIES series features mirror selfies of young men that have been posted on gay hook-up sites or elsewhere on the internet. The series explores how gay visibility has changed over the years. Through Rednour's signature pixelated style, he has "anonymized" these young men to a degree that they themselves have not, emphasizing the shift of openness and visibility from one gay generation to the next. The series explores the distortion of gay identity under the limelight of social media and the pressure that gay men face to conform to an ever-growing emphasis on physical beauty.
There are eight 30" x 30" paintings in the original series, each in a different color of the original gay flag and titled accordingly; Anonymous Selfie: Pink, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Cyan, Indigo, Violet.
